Outreach

Providing public educational and therapeutic programs for adults and children is a pillar of our organization.  We have provided programs for:  schools; handicapped adults, senior citizens, kids, cancer patients, and the Marin Humane Society.  Our horsemanship programs can be life changing, powerful experiences for young and old, urban and suburban, individuals and families.  Our therapeutic horse programs have benefited many of Marin’s disproportionately high number of cancer patients.

During 2009, we hosted eight events for five community groups, including 44 adults and 56 children, and our annual contribution to a need family through Adopt-a-Family.  During the first six months of 2010 we hosted five events for five community groups, including 21 adults and 21 children.  In addition, we host trail and habitat restoration projects in which volunteers from the Marin community help preserve and restore our trails.

Community groups and organizations that have participated in our programs include:

The Cedars of Marin--providing therapeutic programs for developmentally disabled adults
Merrill Gardens--a residence for senior citizens
The Girl Scouts
Cub Scouts
Fairfax-San Anselmo Children's Center
Manor School
Healing With Horses--providing therapy programs for cancer patients
Marin Humane Society
