Ann Raab - Community Outreach Co-Chair.
Ann is a Mounted Trail Watch Volunteer, Park and Open Space Commissioner, and a lifelong advocate for animals. She volunteered at the Marin Humane Society in the Education Department, and won their Volunteer of the Year recognition. She has experience in project management, and is interested in mentoring children. She has previously competed in Endurance and NATRC rides, and is an experienced equestrarian. Ann keeps her horses at her home in San Anselmo, where she enjoys and patrols the adjacent public lands.
Anne Glasscock - President and Construction Committee Chair.
Anne is the Northern Region Supervising Investigator for the California Horse Racing Board. She has held numerous animal and law enforcement positions during her career, including serving as a large animal vet technician, an animal control officer for the City of Petaluma and Lake County, a Reserve Fish and Game Warden, and a Senior Advisor to 4H, FFA, and Clear Lake Junior Horsemen. Anne boards her horse at Marin Stables.
Ann Burke - Secretary.
Ann served on the Marin Horse Council Board for four years, as Secretary for one year and President for two years. She also served three years on the Parent Advisory Board at Marin Catholic High School and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in the Marin community she resides in. Through her volunteer work, she has been involved in many fundraising events. Ann was a National Wholesale Manager for hand-made jewelry lines and was an executive assistant in Government Affairs and Corporate Information Systems. Ann has owned two gaited Morgan horses and is currently riding at Marin Stables.
Kathy Risso - MMWD Trail Work Coordinator.
Kathy is a SOX Compliance Manager. She is a long time boarder of Marin Stables (over 23 years) and is very active in restoring Marin Stables through fundraising and participating in our Community Outreach Programs. Kathy was a Board Member of Marin Horse Council for 6 years and continues to serve as their Treasurer.
Mary Ann (Missy) Westbrook - Treasurer.
Missy is the co-owner of Quarryhouse Inc., an outstanding international masonry construction company based in San Anselmo. She has held two additional concurrent positions for over 20 years, one as the executive assistant to the President of a prominent executive search firm based in San Francisco, and other as assistant to an exceptional money manager in Mill Valley. Missy is active with community fund raising events and has a strong connection to animals. She was a professional animal trainer for many years.
ADVISORY:
Jim McDermott. Jim has managed the operations of Marin Stables since 1980. Jim is well known throughout the Marin County equestrian community as a teacher of horsemanship. His horsemanship clinics and classes for a variety of groups continue Marin Stables’ community-friendly, high quality service. Jim also helps present our programs for the public.
Sahar Bartlett. Sahar serves as a US District Court Reporter in San Francisco. She is a life-long equestrian, previously competing in Western Pleasure, Trail, and Equitation classes at AQHA horse shows throughout the Western U.S. She has boarded horses at Marin Stables over the past 25 years, and currently boards her trail horse at a barn in San Geronimo Valley. Sahar served as Secretary for the organization from 2004 – 2009.
Linda Novy, Vice President, and Co-Chair, Community Outreach. Linda is a sustainability and business consultant to Bay Area businesses and property owners, with an office in Fairfax, California. She is the former chief executive and owner of Gardeners’ Guild, Inc., now an employee owned and operated company. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Marin Horse Council, and formerly served on the Marin County Parks and Open Space Commission, the Marin County Economic Commission, and the board of the Marin Conservation League. She boarded horses at Marin Stables in the past, and currently keeps her two horses in San Geronimo Valley.
